Pebble has sold more than 1 million smartwatches since its launch in 2013. The CEO of Pebble Eric Migicovsky announced in an interview with The Verge that the company has crossed the 1 million mark.
Pebble apparently sold its millionth watch on December 31st that is a huge rise since 40,000 smartwatches were sold in March. The reason for the rise in sales could be mainly due to a huge price cut for original Pebble and Pebble Steel. in November. Pebble plans to step up to the challenge from rivals.
“We’ve found a new framework to use as an interaction model on the watch. It doesn’t look like what we have today, and it doesn’t look like what’s on your smartphone.”
said CEO Eric Migicovsky told The Verge,
The company told The Verge that it will show off new products in 2015, in addition to a new software platform for its smartwatches. Migicovsky also added that apps currently found on the Pebble won’t be the main focus. At present, Pebble smartwatches face a tough competition from Google’s Android Wear platform.
