Three UK already confirmed to be stocking the Galaxy A3 and now the network has revealed they will also be selling its bigger sibling, the Galaxy A5, on pay monthly contracts and pay as you go in the UK. Both the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 are part of Samsung’s new A series which gains inspiration from the Galaxy Alpha and brings an all-metal clad body.
The Galaxy A5 sports a 5 inch 720p Super AMOLED display offering 294 pixels per inch density and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Like other Samsung devices, the storage can be expanded by up to 64GB thanks to the built-in microSD card slot.
On the back is a 13MP autofocus camera with LED flash which can shoot Full HD 1080p video whilst the front facing 5MP snapper should be good for selfie-lovers. Naturally the Galaxy A5 is a connectivity-laden handset sporting LTE Cat 4 (offering 150Mbps download speeds), NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band Wi-Fi and an FM radio. The whole package is powered by a 2300 mAh battery that Samsung claim offers up to 15 hours talk time and all of this is based inside a handset weighing 123 grams that measures 139.3 x 69.7 x 6.7mm.
Three haven’t confirmed a price or release date for the A5 but with both the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 going on sale in the UK from February 12th, a release on Three can’t be too far away. For more information on the handset, check out our in-depth Samsung Galaxy A5 review.
