It looks like LG does not want to clash the launch of its next flagship with the Samsung Galaxy S6. Hence, as per a latest report from the Korea Times, the company will launch the LG G4 in April.
The report states that LG does not want to compete with rivals like Samsung (Galaxy S6) and HTC (One M9) at the MWC next month and has therefore planned the launch for G4 in April. LG had launched the the G3 in May last year, so the April launch is coming in less than a year.
“Samsung usually releases its new flagship model in the first quarter of each year, and Apple in the second quarter. We need some in-between time to make a bigger splash.”
said an LG source to Korea Times.
A report in December stated that LG G4 will come with a stylus and high end features in order to compete with the Galaxy Note 4. Huawei will also be launching the successor of the Ascend P7 but not in at MWC 2015.
