Android Wear 5.0.2 update starts rolling out

Google has started rolling out Android Wear 5.0.2 update for several smartwatches. The latest update is coming to Samsung Gear Live, LG G Watch, Moto 360 and the Sony Smartwatch 3.

The latest update is not a major one and does not add any new features.  The Android 5.0.2 mostly introduces bug fixes and security improvements. It adds some update to Google Play Services along with bringing performance enhancements to the devices. This update also fixes Google Fit Sync issues particularly the discrepancies that users were seeing in step counting between smartwatches and smartphones.

The update is coming in batches and will roll out to the devices by next week. In order to update your watch, your battery needs to be charged to at least 80%. Once you receive the update notification, press “Download” and the update will begin. The build number for Android Wear 5.0.2 on the Moto 360 is LWX49L For the Gear Live it is LWX49K.
