BlackBerry launched the BlackBerry Classic smartphone with full QWERTY physical keyboard back in December last year. Now it has launched a camera-less version of the smartphone for Verizon Wireless in the U.S. This lacks both the 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera and LED Flash and the 2-megapixel front facing camera. This non-camera model will help people in enterprise businesses use the BlackBerry Classic, since some companies restricts smartphones with a camera and also encourage BYOD culture.
Other specifications of the smartphone are similar as the original BlackBerry Classic that includes a 3.5-inch (720 x 720 pixels) touch screen display at 294 PPI pixel density, a 35-key QWERTY physical backlit keyboard with wider layout and larger sculpted keys and navigation keys, 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of inbuilt memory and supports microSD cards up to 128GB and a 2500 mAh (non removable) battery. It runs on BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 comes with Amazon Appstore so that you can add Android apps directly.
The BlackBerry Classic Non Camera costs U$399.99, about US$50 less than the original version if you want to pay it full, otherwise you can get it at $99.99 with a 2-year contract from Verizon.
