Lenovo announced the Tab 2 A8 along with the Tab 2A0-70 tablet at MWC 2015 today. The tablet is from company’s A series with voice calling capabilities. We went hands on with the tablet at the event and here is a quick look at the hardware of the device.
The Lenovo sports a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) HD display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor. Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, it has 1GB RAM, 8GB / 16GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD. The tablet has a 2 MP front facing camera and comes with dual front facing stereo speakers. Similar to the Tab 2 A10-70, this tablet supports Dolby Atmos.
The micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top.

There is a microphone at the bottom. It measures 8.9 mm thick and weighs 360 grams.
The tablet has dual SIM card slot and micro SD card slot.
At the back, the tablet has the 5MP rear camera, Lenovo branding at the center and Dolby branding at the lower end. The tablet has 4200mAh battery and supports connectivity options like 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 comes in Pearl White, Ebony, Midnight Blue, Neon Pink and starts at $129 (Rs. 7,950 approx.) for the WiFi variant and $179 (Rs. 11,000 approx.) for LTE models. It will go on sale only in June.
