Lenovo A7000 Hands On

Lenovo announced the A7000 smartphone today at MWC 2015. The successor of the A6000, the phone supports 4G LTE and is also the world’s first smartphone with Dolby ATMOS support, offering an immersive audio experience. We went hand on with the phone at the event and here is a walkthrough at the hardware.

The Lenovo A7000 sports a  5.5-inch HD screen and is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752M 64-bit processor. Running Android 5.0 (Lollipop), it has  2GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, expandable memory with microSD. There is a 5MP front-facing camera along with sensors, earpiece and Lenovo branding at the front. The phone has three capacitive touch buttons below the display.

The phone has power button and volume rockers on the right side.

The micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top.

There is no key or button present on the left side.

A microphone is present at the bottom. The phone measure 152.6x 76.2 x 7.9mm and weighs 140g.

At the back, the phone has a 8MP camera with LED flash. Lenovo branding is present at the center along with loud speaker grills.

 

The phone has 2,900mAh removable battery and supports connectivity options like 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.  It is a dual SIM phone and the SIM card slots are seen above the battery. Lenovo A7000 comes in Onyx Black and Pearl White colors and starts at $169 (Rs. 10,450 approx.). It will roll out starting from this March.
