Asus announced the Zenfone 2 in January while the Zenfone 5 was announced last year. Lets compare the two phone and see what up gradation has Asus made in the latest phone.

The Zenfone 2 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display along with Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by 1.8 GHz 64-Bit Intel Atom Z3560 quad core processor. Running Android 5.0 Lollipop, it has 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable via micro SD card slot. The Zenfone 5 on the other hand has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) capacitive multi touch display with Corning gorilla glass 3 protection and is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 with PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 GPU. Running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Zen UI on top, it has 2GB RAM, 8GB / 16GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 64GB via micro SD.
The Zenfone 2 has a 5MP front facing camera while Zenfone 5 has a 2MP front facing camera. Both the devices have earpiece and Asus logo at the center.
Both the phones have three capacitive buttons below the display.
The Zenfone 2 has not buttons on either side of the device while Zenfone 5 has power button and volume rockers on the right side.
The Zenfone 2 has a 3.5mm audio jack on the top along with power button while the Zenfone 5 has 3.5 mm audio jack and the microphone.
Both the devices have micro USB port and microphone at the bottom.
The Zenfone 2 has volume rockers at the back and a 13 MP camera with dual LED flash while the Zenfone 5 has a 8MP camera with LED flash.
Both the devices have a removable back cover and Asus branding at the center followed by the loudspeaker grill. The Zenfone 2 has a 3,000 mAh battery while the Zenfone 5 has a 2,110 mAh battery.
