Google has updated Hangouts for Android with a couple of features. The latest update bumps the Hangouts version to 3.0 and brings some UI changes along with new contact cards.
The contact card now shows information from the user’s Google+ profile, including recent conversations, people in common and recent Google+ post. The contact card holds details of the person you are chatting to lir name, phone number, email addresses, and any email conversations that have taken place between you and the person. All these details are present in a single scrollable card.
Moving on, the update adds enables external guests using the app to join Hangouts video calls from their mobile device with a meeting link provided by the organizer. Video calls that are shared with the link require someone in the Apps domain of the Hangout video call to accept those requesting access on the web. Finally, Hangouts gets performance and stability enhancements.
