Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge receive 20 million pre-orders: Report

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge that were unveiled last week at the MWC 2015 have received 20 million pre-orders, 15 million for S6 and five million for the S6 Edge from mobile carriers, worldwide, according to a report from Korea Times.

According to the report, the info comes from an unidentified Samsung executive. According to him, the 32GB variant of Galaxy S6 will cost 700 Euros and the Galaxy S6 Edge will cost 850 Euros without a contract.

At the MWC, Samsung’s mobile chief Shin Jong-kyun told the Korean media that the response for the new Galaxy S6 smartphones have been far better than the previous model.

Both the smartphones have a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, is powered by a Octa-Core ( Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5GHz) Exynos processor, runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), has a 16-megapixel camera with OIS, LED flash, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, comes with 3GB LPDDR4 RAM and in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB memory variants.

The Galaxy S5 didn’t sell well compared to the Galaxy S4, which sold 10 million units worldwide in one month. Looks like the Galaxy S6 will break this record.
