Microsoft has announced Xbox music service has been integrated with the company’s cloud storage service, OneDrive. This integration will let users access Music files on One Drive.
Users will simply have to upload your music files to your new “Music” folder in OneDrive and that music will appear in the Xbox Music apps for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 as well as on your Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It must be noted that this is a free service and doesn’t require a paid Music Pass.
The music stored in the One Drive will take the storage space but Microsoft gives every Xbox Music subscriber 100GB of extra space in OneDrive so that will be enough. Microsoft is making the service available in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia starting today. There is no word on a global rollout.
