Apple and IBM rolling out MobileFirst for iOS apps in Japan

Apple and IBM are rolling out MobileFirst suit for iOS apps in Japan. The move comes from the duo after launching the suit in the U.S in December.

IBM Japan is making seven of the 14 MobileFirst apps available in Japan, including: banking and financial apps Advise & Grow, and Trusted Advice, insurance app Retention, the Case Advice app for government organizations, Expert Tech for telecommunications, Sales Assist, and Pick & Pack apps for the retail industry.

The business focused iOS apps are specialized and designed for businesses including banking, retail, insurance, financial services, telecommunications and for governments and airlines, Unlike other iOS apps, IBM MobileFirst apps are not available in the iTunes app store. Companies will have to work directly with IBM to have them installed on iOS devices. These apps can also be managed and deployed via IBM’s cloud services.
