Amazon has launched Kindle Voyage, the company’s latest Kindle with a 300ppi high resolution display in India. The 7th generation Kindle also has new adaptive front light that is automatically controlled using the built-in light sensor and has PagePress page turn buttons that offers haptic feedback when pressed.

The new Kindle Voyage is also slim at 7.6mm thin, which is the most thinnest Kindle yet. It weighs 188 grams, making it lighter than the Paperwhite. It has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n support and has 4GB of internal storage. Amazon promises battery life up to up to 6 weeks (wireless off). It is also available in 3G version with all these features in addition to built-in 3G and EDGE/GPRS support that would let you download books on-the-go without any data charges.

Commenting on the launch, Rajiv Mehta, Country Manager, Kindle India, said:

The stylishly designed Kindle Voyage was crafted to give readers the best possible reading experience. They can download books from the selection of 2.5 million ebooks in the India Kindle Store, read for hours without eyestrain or glare, and even read in bright sunlight. With free 3G available on Kindle Voyage, users never have to hunt for or pay for a Wi-Fi hotspot. With a battery life that’s measured in weeks, it is the perfect reading companion.
