The filed patent, shows iris recognition feature that can be used as user authentication on smartwatch. As per the patents, Samsung refers to user authentication methods as “Biosignal ID,” . As for the authentication, it can be occurred by way of gestures such as “opening a hand, clenching a fist, or rotating a wrist,” or body motions (such as iris glances and heartbeats/heart rate).

Previous reports have stated that Samsung is working on a round dial smartwatch that is called as Orbis.  It is said that the smartwatch will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 processor  and support wireless charging. The iris recognition technology will be a new feature if Samsung decides to use it on its upcoming smartwatches.
