We unboxed the Zenfone 2 ZE500C, showed off the Zen UI based on Android Lollipop and gameplay demo recently. The Zenfone 2 ZE500CL has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor. The smartphone has Miracast screen mirroring support and also supports USB OTG. Here is a demo video that shows both these features.

Miracast screen mirroring feature was already present in the first generation Zenfone series, but in the new Zen UI, Miracast function is replaced by PlayTo, which is the new name for this feature. Once you have a Miracast dongle or device connected to a monitor, you can mirror the phone’s screen to the monitor. It doesn’t show any lags, as you can see from the video.
The phone also has USB on-the-go (OTG) support that lets you connect a pen drive to it. You can even use a USB hub to connect a keyboard and a mouse to the phone. Even though Asus says that the phone supports microSD cards only up to 64GB, we tried out 128GB microSD card, and it worked perfectly fine.
