YU started a contest last week to find a name for its upcoming Cyanogen-powered YU series smartphone . Today it has revealed that Project Caesar will be called YUPHORIA that has been selected through its crowd-sourcing campaign #YUNameIt. It received 1,00,000 entries, out of which 5 names (YUPHORIA, YUKNIGHT, YUNICORN, YUNITY, YOUTH) made it to the voting stage from 4th to 6th April.
The name YUPHORIA represents zeal, enthusiasm and passion which reflects what YU is committed to bringing to the consumers through innovating and reinventing technology, said the company. As YU promised earlier, five randomly selected lucky winners from the entries for name YUPHORIA will win the new YU device. Participants have also won Amazon Gift Cards worth Rs. 1 Lakh throughout the campaign.
YU already confirmed that YU YUPHORIA smartphone, the second smartphone from YU after its most popular YU YUREKA will be launched sometime in Q2 2015.
