Airtel launches local and STD calling packs for broadband users starting at Rs. 49

Airtel has launched its new voice calling packs for its broadband customers. Airtel says that customers will get unlimited local calls at Rs. 49 per month and unlimited local+STD calls at Rs.99 per month, but the website mentions that Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 5000 minutes will apply, which is weird since it is limited.

The local+STD calling pack lets you make calls anywhere in the country to both landlines and mobile phones. Both the packs are available exclusively for home broadband users for non-commercial use.

Activation procedure to activate calling packs for existing Airtel broadband customers

  • SMS <UNL49> to 53636 for Rs. 49 pack
  • SMS <UNL99> to 53636 for Rs. 99 pack

SMS needs to be sent from their registered mobile number for which charge of Rs. 3/SMS will apply. New customers can book a new broadband connection to avail these offers by sending an SMS <VOICE> to 53636. Airtel currently provides fixed-line telephone and broadband services (DSL) in 87 cities across India.
