SwiftKey Keyboard has updated Android beta app with a couple of additions and improvements. The popular third party keyboard version 5.3 now brings adaptive new keyboard layouts to our Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati and Marathi languages.
The new layouts aim to help users to write more quickly and easily in these languages. SwiftKey’s new layout, depends on the proceeding letters as the top row of vowels changes to become contextually relevant. The keyboard still offers autocorrect and predictive features. Other additions include numbers in both roman and local script on the intuitive number pad. Also, the Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi keyboards are laid out in the same way as the alphabet.
Finally, the latest update adds support for nine new Indian languages including Bodo, Dogri, Kashmiri, Konkani (in both Devanagari and Kannada scripts), Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit, Santali and Sindhi. This makes the total Indian language support to 22. Last week, SwiftKey Android beta got a new ‘SwiftKey Hub’ alongside minor UI improvements.
