According to a Korean publication report on Thursday, Samsung’s mobile payment system Samsung Pay is likely to go live in South Korea and the US in second half of 2015, says Park Jin-young, company’s Managing Director.
As per Whowired Korea report, Samsung’s Park Jin-young after the Q1 earnings conference call on April 29 said that the company has been working on Samsung Pay launch, and the H2, 2015 time-frame is under discussion.
“The consecutive release schedule to the rest of the other countries following Korea and the US in the second half of the year is still under discussion. The compatibility option with the smart watch will only be disclosed during the launch,” said Park Jin-young.
To remind you, Samsung is already working on the next generation Gear smartwatch, which is likely to be a more premium-designed circular smartwatch from Samsung.
Last week, the South Korean giant had even announced that the members of global developer community can get an early access to the SDK meant for the upcoming 7th generation of Samsung Gear smartwatch.
It seems that Samsung is planning to release the Samsung Pay along with the launch of next-generation Samsung Gear smartwatch, which may also support the payment system as well.
