Microsoft spotted testing 4.7-inch budget-Lumia in India; Two high-end Lumias coming later this year?

According to the Indian import/ export website Zauba, Microsoft has shipped four units of Lumia devices to India for testing purposes.

Shipped on Thursday, the Lumia devices with model number RM-1127 listed in Zauba’s import data only notes that these are single-SIM Lumias and feature a 4.7-inch display.

The declared value of single unit of Lumia RM-1127 is Rs. 4,578, which suggests that this device too will be another budget-Lumia from Microsoft. Just to let you know, the declared value in cargo shipments usually doesn’t reflect the final price of the device. So the actual retail price is likely to differ from the declared value by Microsoft at present.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that the Redmond giant is making two high-end Lumia devices that will come later this year. According to sourced information by an Indian blog Unleashthephones, the two devices have been codenamed as ‘Talkman’ and ‘Cityman’.

The alleged ‘Talkman’ according to the report is likely to be slimmer than the Lumia 930 and will feature a 5.2-inch Quad-HD display, a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage with microSD card expandability, 20-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras, and a 3000mAh removable battery.

The more premium model out of the two alleged Lumia devices is ‘Cityman’, which is said to feature a bigger 5.7-inch Quad-HD display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage with microSD card expandability, 20-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras, and a 3300mAh removable battery.

By far, it’s been rumoured that Microsoft will launch a flagship Lumia device later this year. When interviewed Chris Weber (CVP, Mobile Device Sales at Microsoft), he did hint about the flagship in making, which may also feature Nokia PureView technology in cameras. Read the full interview here.
