After Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Communications (RCOM) and Videocon Telecom, Aircel today announced that it has reduced National Roaming tariff by up to 75% and the call rates by 40%. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) reduced ceiling tariffs for national roaming calls and SMS last month. There is no change in the new rates compared to TRAI’s proposed guidelines.

Now a local text message while on roaming costs 25 paise as compared to the earlier charge of Re. 1; and for STD texts, 38 paise from Rs 1.50 earlier.
Similarly, for the incoming calls outside their home network, customers pay 45p/min instead of the earlier 75p/min. The outgoing local and STD calls will be charged at 80p/min and Rs 1.15 paise per minute as compared to earlier charged Re. 1 and Rs 1.50, respectively.
The revised rates are applicable for all prepaid and postpaid customers across all circles. These new National Roaming rates are already impemented from 1st May 2015.
