Google now allows you to order food directly from Search

Google has been hard at work providing easier ways to search on the desktop and then transfer the information to your smartphone. First they allowed you to send directions to your phone directly from desktop search and then they added the ability to send notes and set alarms on your device in the same way. Now Google has introduced a faster and easier way to order food directly from Google search.

Now when you search for a particular restaurant on your phone, you will see an additional option to “Place an order”. Tapping that will bring up the corresponding website and you can proceed to place your order.

Currently the service is available only in the US and you will  be able to order via six providers in the US — Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu and MyPizza.com. Additional providers will be added in the future and soon, the service should be available in other regions as well.
