Zomato launched its own food delivery service in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore in March where users could order food from restaurants using the main app. Now, the popular online restaurant search company has rolled out a separate “Zomato Order” app.
Available on Android and iPhone, the standalone “Zomato Order” app lets users order food from various restaurants. Zomato said that they have launched a separate app to make it lightweight and more cleaner. The Zomato Order app gets a separate Order Status tab that will give you the update about your order with fewer clicks. The company says that unbundling the Order app from the main app allows users to perform search and online ordering tasks more smoothly as these two are independent services.
Finally, Zomato says that the Zomato restaurant finder app and Zomato Order will be linked to one another. So if you’ve found a place you want to order from on the restaurant finder app, a single tap will take you to that restaurant on the Order app, and you can proceed to add items to your cart. Once done, a single tap will take you back to the restaurant finder app, so you can decide what to do for your next meal.
Zomato has been constantly expanding its global reach and is now present in 22 countries. Last month, the company acquired MaplePOS cloud-based point of sale product for restaurants that will be renames as Zomato Base.
