Bleep, a secure messaging app has been launched by BitTorrent on all major platforms. In addition, the app has added a new ephemeral feature especially for iPhone app. The app allows users to communicate without providing a contact number, email or username by using company’s P2P technology.
Originally launched in 2013, Bleep has also added an important feature dubbed as “whisper” that sees messages deleted from all participants devices 25 seconds after they land. To access the messages on mobile, just click on “Go to Whisper.” BitTorrent also promises end-to-end encryption with keys saved locally on users’ devices.
Bleep also takes care about screenshots as when reading messages from a contact, their username is blocked out. BitTorrent notes that the app will block out nicknames while sending whisper messages. Users will need to press an eye icon that in turn blurs the entire message history, ensuring that it is not impossible to tell who has sent the message.
It is not known when the “whisper” feature will come to Bleep’s Android app.
