YotaPhone 2 gets Android 5.0 Lollipop update, white color variant and more

YotaPhone 2 is getting the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The phone that comes with dual display (front and back) with e-ink technology is also coming in white color variant.

The E-ink display will have a reversed contrast to make the reading experience better but the user can revert to the normal version any time they like. Apart from that there are other subtle changes in the volume buttons and the branding on the rear panel. Yotaphone 2 was launched in December last year. The update brings some changes to YotaPhone’s e-ink interface, such as the revamped YotaCovers, which now share space with YotaPanels and poll data from more sources. There is also the addition of some new pre-loaded apps, including YotaRemote (TV remote control app) and YotaSports (live scores on your e-ink display).

The phone is also getting few new social full-sized widgets for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter that can pull up new content. The new software will be available for both black and white versions of the phone. Finally, the YotaPhone is also getting a price cut of £440 in the UK, down from an initial price of £555, while for the rest of Europe the price is now €599, down from €699.
