HTC J Butterfly HTV31 announced in Japan, likely to be HTC Butterfly 3 Internationally

HTC in partnership with Japanese operator KDDI has announced a new smartphone in its butterfly series dubbed the HTC J Butterfly HTV31. The smartphone is reportedly scheduled to release in early June in Japan, and speculated to get renamed as the HTC Butterfly 3 Internationally.

Upfront, the HTC J Butterfly HTV31 features a 5.2-inch Quad-HD (1440×2560 pixels) SLCD3 display and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense UI skinned on top. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core (2GHz + 1.5GHz) processor coupled with 3GB RAM and Adreno 430 GPU. It has dual front-facing speakers and has Dolby audio support.

The polycarbonate device features 20-megapixel Duo Camera setup with dual LED flash for the rear camera and a 13-megapixel front facing camera. The 32GB internal storage on the device is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), according to KDDI (via eprice).

The HTC J Butterfly HTV31 is water and dust resistant – support IPX5/ IPX7 waterproof rating standards, and comes in red, blue, and white colour options. The battery on the device is 2,700mAh. The handset measures 151x73x10.1mm, and weighs 162 grams.
