Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition goes on sale for 1799 Yuan

Meizu has announced that its Meizu MX4 Ubuntu edition has gone on sale in China. The Chinese smartphone maker has launched the second smartphone running Unbuntu.

The smartphone comes with Ubuntu Touch OS and has the same specs as the Android version that was launched in September last year. It sports 5.36-inch (1920 x 1152 pixels) IPS display with 15: 9 aspect ratio and 2.6mm slim bezels on the sides.  The phone is powered by a 2.1 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6595 processor. There is a 20.7MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera with 3100mAh battery.  Priced at 1799 Yuan, the phone is available in white or gold on Meizu website in China. Meizu also announced that the Ubuntu edition will soon be sold across Europe.

The move kicks off Meizu’s push towards strengthening the Ubuntu ecosystem in China, ahead of launching the Chinese Edition to its user base later this year.
