Asus announced the ZenPad series tablets at the Coumputex 2015. We went hands on with the ZenPad 8.0 at the event, and here is a detailed look at the hardware.
The Asus ZenPad 8.0 sports 8-inch (1280 x 800) HD IPS display and is powered by Intel Atom x3-C3200 quad-core 64-bit processor for the WiFi variant and the 4G variant is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor (4G). Running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with Zen UI, it comes with 1GB or 2GB RAM, 8GB or 16GB internal memory and expandable memory with microSD. At the front the tablet has a 2MP front-facing camera with earpiece and proximity sensors along with an earpiece for calling.
The tablet has Asus branding below the display on the bezel.
The power button and volume rocker are present on the right side. It measures 209 x 123 x 8.5mm.
The ZenPad 8.0 has a 8MP or a 5MP Auto Focus rear camera with 1080p Full HD video recording. It has embossed-leather patterning and polished metallic frame for a premium look.
The ZenPad 8.0 come with 4000mAh battery and connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Asus will also sell Zen Case, stylish accessory in five colors with leather texture, Audio Cover for immersive 5.1-channel surround sound and Power Case that would increase ZenPad 8.0′s battery life with up to 15 hours of usage. The Asus ZenPad 8.0 comes in Black, White and Aurora Metallic colors. Asus has not revealed the pricing or roll out details of the tablet yet.
