With an aim to make it easy for its users to protect themselves and others from abusive accounts, Twitter has launched a new tool that lets them export and share block lists.
The latest tool will allow users to share the blocked accounts with other users who may be facing similar harassment from trolls. This makes it easier to block multiple accounts at once.
“While many users find them useful, we also recognize that some users — those who experience high volumes of unwanted interactions on Twitter — need more sophisticated tools.”
posted Twitter User Safety Engineer Xiaoyun Zhangin in a blog.
In order to access this new feature, users will have to navigate to their “blocked accounts” settings on the Twitter.com website, then click on the advanced options drop-down menu and select “export your list” or “import a list,”.
The new feature will be available to some people beginning today and should roll out to all Twitter users over the coming weeks. Twitter also said that it is working on additional user controls that will be announced soon. This latest move comes just months after Twitter, introduced new policies to control cyberbullying and abuse threats. Twitter is striving hard to make its platform more secure for its users as there has been an increase in online bullying and threats.
