Adobe releases a slew of Android apps including Photoshop Mix

Adobe, the maker of apps that are the de-facto standard in the creative world, has just launched a fresh range of Android applications. From Photoshop Mix to Shape CC, Brush CC, Color CC; we have applications that cover the whole spectrum of users from the hobbyist to creative professionals.

Photoshop Mix can be considered a relaunch of Photoshop Touch and employs features from the erstwhile PS Express as well. You get the ability to create layers and use selection tools. While still limited in scope, the application does offer proper mobile image editing capabilities. You can of course also use it for applying the usual color filters. Full list of features:

• Cut out and remove sections of your images or merge multiple photos.
• Seamlessly combine photos together to create fun or surreal images.
• Adjust colors and contrast or apply preset FX Looks (filters) to your pictures. Enhance the entire image, or just a portion with the touch of your finger.
• Non-destructive editing means your original pics stay pristine and untouched.
• Quickly and easily share your creations on social media.

The other apps launched today are restricted to Photoshop CC users. Shape CC, Brush CC and Color CC are applications that work in collaboration with each other to offer advanced capabilities for professionals. Shape CC allows you to capture and convert images into vector graphics whereas Brush CC turns photos or graphics into high-quality brushes. Color CC on the other hands is an application that lets you sample colors from your surroundings. You can extract color from objects around you, save them and use them in your Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign projects.

All in all it looks like Adobe is beginning to take Android quite seriously as a platform for creative professionals. The applications are available starting today and you can head over to the link below to try them out.
