Google’s new Chromebox for meetings now supports up to 20 people group, costs $1,999

Google has launched the new version of Chromebox for meetings that brings support for larger meeting rooms and groups of up to 20 people. To remind you, Google’s first Chromebox for meetings – launched last year – could only support groups of up to 8 people.

While the new Chromebox features same instant face-to-face meeting functionalities as the original Chromebox 2014, it includes new full-HD (1080p) Pan-tilt-zoom camera for professional video quality, an additional mic and speaker, and supports two monitors. There is also a Full-screen mode in Chromebox for meetings that is supported for any sized meeting room powered by Chrome.

Additionally, Google has added more Chrome management controls to the admin panel. Admins will be able to remotely see that which devices are online or offline, and can delegate admin rights to other users besides the super admin.

The new Chromebox for meetings is available in the US at $1,999 (approximately Rs. 1.27 lakhs), which includes the first year’s management and support fee. Google will be expanding availability to different regions later this year. Price of original Google Chromebox (2014) started at $999.
