Facebook will soon bring a ton of news to your News Feed via Instant Articles, as per The Wall Street Journal. Launched last month, Instant Articles fills a users news feed with articles from a number of popular publishers.
The WSJ report states that The New York Times is set to publish around 30 articles per day and The Atlantic making most of its content available through the platform. While other publisher NBC News plans to post between 30 and 40 articles a day to the stream in the coming days. On the other hand BuzzFeed wants to publish maximum possible content. The main aim of Instant Articles is to offer more news to users at one place and this is possible due to more than 1 billion user base on Facebook.
The social network says that Instant Articles loads stories on mobile phones up to ten times faster than if readers click a link and head over to a publisher’s website. Instant articles will also include a suite of features such as interactive maps, image zoom, autoplay videos and audio captions. Currently, Instant Articles are only available on iOS – other platforms are expected to follow soon.
