iOS 8.4 with Apple Music, redesigned music app now available

Apple Music finally went live in over 100 countries including India yesterday. Apple has released the iOS 8.4 software update that comes with Apple Music, Beats 1 and redesigned music app.

iOS 8.4 is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod via an over the air update or iTunes. Apple Music is built into iOS 8.4 and it represents Apple’s long awaited debut in the streaming music space. Apple Music was first unveiled earlier this month at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. The service combines on-demand streaming with playlists generated by human curators, radio stations including the Beats 1 24-hour live station and additional features. There is also a redesigned Music app an Up Next feature for managing current music playback which includes artist activity, global search, new control gestures, and an app-wide MiniPlayer.

In addition to the new Music app, the update brings improvements for iBooks and bug fixes. After a 3-month free membership, you have to pay $9.99 per month for single membership and $14.99 per month for a family plan that provides service for up to six family members. In order get Apple Music, go to your Settings app on your iOS device, then go to General > Software Update.
