Meizu officially announced the MX5 at an event in China yesterday. Let’s take a detailed look at company’s latest flagship smartphone in this photo gallery.
The Meizu MX 5 sports 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection and is powered by a 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) Octa-Core 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU. Running Flyme OS 4.5 based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, the phone comes with 3GB RAM and 16,32 or 64GB memory variants.
It has a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The earpiece is situated at center and has the usual set of sensors.
The phone comes with a physical home button that works as a fingerprint scanner. The mBack touch-sensitive home button offers different functions based on press, similar to the m2 note. It has mTouch 2.0 fingerprint recognition technology for secured locking and payments using mPay.
The power/lock key and volume rockers are present on the right side of the phone.
The phone supports dual SIM (both 4G) and the slot is situated on the left side.
Loudspeaker grill and the micro USB port is present at the bottom.
On the top we have the microphone and 3.5mm audio jack. The phone measures 149.9×74.7×7.6mm and weighs 149 grams.
The phone has a 20.7 MP rear camera with Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, 6P lenses f/2.0 aperture, dual tone LED Flash, Laser Auto focus and is supports 4K video recording.
Meizu MX5 is encompassed in a full metal body with magnesium alloy frame. It has a Meizu branding at the lower end. It has a 3150mAh battery with mCharge quick charging support.
The Meizu MX5 supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS in terms of connectivity. It comes in Gray, Silver and Gold colors and is priced at 1799 CYN (Rs.18,468 / US$290 approx.), 1999 CYN (Rs. 20,519 / US$322 approx.) and 2399 CYN (Rs. 24,630 / US$387 approx.) for the 16,32 and 64GB variants, respectively. It will go on sale in China from this month.
