Snapchat on Wednesday rolled out an update for Android and iOS devices that replaces its signature tap-and-hold preview feature with the simple tap-and-view. So now you no longer required to hold a finger to view snaps or stories.
“Today marks a pretty big change for Snapchat — you no longer have to press and hold the screen to view a Snap or Story — instead, simply Tap to View! This means no more tired thumbs while watching a several-hundred-second Story… and a little getting used to for anyone who has been Snapchatting for a while. We think you’re going to love it!” notes company on its blog.
Not just that, the Snapchat app for Android and iOS adds few other features as well. User now have a new ‘Add Nearby’ friends option that will show list of people using Snapchat in their proximity, provided they also have the Add Nearby option opened at the same time.
Snapchat has also upgraded Snapcodes and it now lets you add a selfie to the center of your Snapcode, so that it’s easier for your friends to recognize.
Also, if you see a Snapcode in another app, you can add them by scanning it like a QR code with your Snapchat camera or can take a screenshot and then go to Snapcode menu and select Add Friends.
