Microsoft Groove 1
Ahead of the much awaited launch of Windows 10, Microsoft has announced their intentions to rebrand Xbox Music. The service that isn’t really tied in to the Xbox gaming platform at all will now be known as Groove.

The new application packs the same functionality as Xbox Music but does have an interface that is better arranged and brings easy to use menus, navigation controls. There are also touch gestures that work both with a touch screen or with a mouse & keyboard as input devices. Just like Xbox Music, Groove will be available on Windows, Android, iOS, Web as well as the Xbox console.Groove 2

The service has two components to it and compares well with the competition. The paid aspect of Groove will be a subscription music service that brings 40 million tracks to all the devices that can run Groove. You’ll have to pay $9.99 per month or $99 per year for the Groove Music Pass. Existing Xbox Music subscribers will get migrated to Groove automatically. The free bit of Groove integrates with OneDrive and will let you freely stream any music that you have uploaded to the cloud storage service. The new application will be available as part of Windows 10 preview later this week.
