Huawei Ascend Mate 8 render appears online – Will be powered by Kirin 950 processor

We just told you about Huawei’s upcoming Kirin 950 processor which is based on the 16nm manufacturing process. Now, renders of the Huawei Ascend Mate 8 have been leaked and it will be the first smartphone to use the processor.

The Ascend Mate 8 is the successor to the Ascend Mate 7 and as a whole, the design seems to be very similar. You still get the same basic shape and metal build. However there are a few changes here and there. For example, the dual-tone LED flash has been relocated to below the camera module. They’ve removed the Huawei branding on the front and stuck to just a logo on the back. The sensors above the dsiplay also have different placement now and one seems to look like an LED flash.

The Ascend Mate 8 will be a powerhouse since it packs the Kirin 950 processor which is expected to be on-par if not better than the Snapdragon 820 processor and will be amongst the first to support LTE Cat 10. It will also be cooler than Snapdragon’s processors while providing similar computing power.

The device wil have a 6 inch display with 1440p resolution. There will be 2 variants available – a 32GB variant with 3GB RAM and a 64GB variant with 4GB RAM. Both the devices will be dualSIM and will support dual standby.
