Motorola is known to have an OS that is very close to stock Android experience. They are often the first to release update for their phones whenever a new Android version comes out as well. Now Motorola are proving that they also manage to update their older models regularly as well since the first generation Motorola Moto G LTE is getting update to Lollipop 5.1 in USA.
The unlocked variants of the first generation LTE Moto G are now getting the update to Android Lollipop 5.1. They had been running a soak test for the software version during the past week and have now finally decided to release it.
The update changes the build to 21.11.56.peregrine_retus.retus.en.US. It may take a while before you receive the update on your unit specifically so do be patient. However soon, we think that someone might post a firmware online that will allow you to flash your phone manually. But we suggest waiting for the OTA (Over-the-air) update itself to make sure you have a hassle free update experience.
