Google has released an accessory for Chromecast that lets it connect to your internet router directly. Priced at $15, the wired ‘Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast’ has Micro-USB port at one end and an AC power adaptor with standard RJ-45 port on the other end.
“This optional accessory lets you connect your Chromecast directly to your router to create a fast and reliable connection for your Chromecast,” notes Google.
With this Ethernet Adapter accessory, Google has given an option for those who face wireless connection drop on Chromecast, may be because of the poor Wi-Fi connectivity or poor strength.
So now you can plug the adapter cable port (Micro-USB) to Chromecast’s Micro-USB port, and with the AC power adapter it will not only provide power to the Chromecast, but also will connect it to the internet with Ethernet (RJ-45) cable.
For now, the Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast is available for purchase from Google Store in the US only.
