Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and S2 9.7 receive Korean certification

Two new Samsung tablets with model numbers SM-T715 and SM-T815 have received certification in Korea. The two models refer to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and S2 9.7.

The certification was granted by RRA (Radio Research Agency) which is a subsidiary of KCC (Korean Communications Commission) which is the Korean unit similar to FCC of USA.

The 8.0 and 9.7 refer to the screen sizes of the two tablets. While last year’s models had 8.4 inch and 10.5 inch screens, this year we see Samsung opting for smaller screened tablets that are easier to handle.

Both the variants are said to support LTE and the Wi-Fi versions will have a different model number. The tablets are expected to pack Samsung’s own 64 bit Exynos processors, 3GB of RAM, 2.1 Megapixel front camera as well as an 8 Megapixel rear camera. They will also have 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded using microSD cards.

Other than the different screen sizes itself, both the devices will have the same aspect ratio of 4:3 and resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. They are expected to be released sometime in August, the same time as the predecessors were launched and will run Android Lollipop 5.0 or newer upon launch.
