Nokia tipped to unveil a virtual reality product next week

Nokia is said to foray into the hot and happening virtual reality market. The Finnish company is expected to launch a new virtual reality product next week, as per a latest report from  Re/Code.

The mystery product is said to be unveiled at a VIP event in Los Angeles sometime next week. This new product from Nokia would be its first major hardware launch since the company was acquired by Microsoft about two years ago. Unfortunately, there are no details about the VR product at the moment. Nokia would be the latest in a number of high-profile companies to venture in virtual reality. There has been a lot of buzz recently around virtual reality and its potential as a new hardware device and software platform. Facebook spent $2 billion on virtual-reality startup Oculus and soon we will see the HTC Vive and Sony’s Project Morpheus make VR.

Earlier this month, Nokia confirmed that it is entering the smartphone business and it is seeking for a partner. The company will not be able to produce any Nokia branded phone until Q4, 2016
