OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 2 smartphone at a VR event earlier today. We got to check out the smartphone at an event in India. Here is the photo gallery of the smartphone.

The OnePlus 2 has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS In-Cell display with 1500:1 contrast ratio, 600 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor V2.1 that is clocked at 1.8GHz and has Adreno 430 GPU.

It runs on Oxygen OS 2.0 based on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). It looks almost similar to stock Android and also adds some additional features.

In the 64GB version there is 54GB of usable space.

There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that is distortion free, claims the company. It also has the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors next the earpiece.

Even though the smartphone has capacitive touch buttons, it has optional on-screen touch buttons.

It also has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button.

The loudspeaker grill is present on the bottom along with microphone. Between the grills there is a reversible USB Type-C connector.

On the top there is a 3.5mm audio jack and a secondary microphone. It has a aluminum alloy frame.

On the left there is an alert slider toggle to switch between No Notifications, Priority Notifications, and All Notifications.

On the right there is a power button and volume rockers.

One the back there is a 13-megapixel camera with dual LED Flash, 6P lenses, Laser Auto focus, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 1.3um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording and slow-motion video at 120fps.

It has two variants, one with 3GB LPPDR4 RAM and 16GB internal storage and the other variant has 4GB DDR4 RAM with 64GB of internal memory. It doesn’t have a microSD expansion slot, similar to the OnePlus One. It weighs 175 grams.

The back cover with sandstone black finish is removable, but it has a built-in 3300mAh battery.

Removing the back cover reveals a SIM tray that accepts two nano SIM cards. The smartphone has 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity, but lacks NFC. According to the website the smartphone supports FDD-LTE bands 1/3/5/7/8/20 and TDD-LTE bands 38/40/41.

OnePlus 2 has optional style swap covers that includes Kevlar, bamboo, rosewood and black apricot. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 22,999 ($329) for the 3GB RAM with 16GB storage variant and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant costs Rs. 24,999 ($389).  The 64GB OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase in India from August 11th with an invite, exclusively on Amazon, while the 16GB OnePlus 2 with 3GB RAM will be available later this year.
