New Apple TV to pack iOS 9 core, Expected in September

Apple’s next event is lined up for 9th September and it looks like we might finally get a glimpse of the next generation Apple TV. A device that has long been in need for a refresh, the next generation variant will run an iOS 9 core which will facilitate some much needed improvements.

Codenamed J34, the new Apple TV will be powered by a television optimized version of iOS9 and will finally pack an App Store. The updated core will also allow Apple to endow the device with Siri support, a fresh remote control that will work over bluetooth and infrared alongside audio enhancements to allow users to listen to content privately. The more powerful processor and additional storage will play a key role in this while externally, the streaming centric device will get a slimmer design. Unfortunately, reports suggest that Apple’s oft rumored internet TV service won’t see the light of day anytime soon as Cupertino seems to have hit a roadblock in discussions with TV network officials. All said and done, September is right around the corner and we’ll get the low down on Apple’s new hardware soon enough.
