Is HTC O2 with Snapdragon 820 the next flagship from the company?

It looks like HTC is working on a flagship phone that could be dubbed as HTC O2, as per a latest leak. The rumor states that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 820.

The report further says that this will be a quad-core (four custom ARM based Hydra cores) processor and not an octa-core processor and will make use of Samsung’s 14nm FinFET process. Earlier it was rumored that the phone will sport Snapdragon 810. Moving, on the O2 is said to have an all-metal design. The phone is expected to be launched late in the first quarter of 2016. There is no other information about the specifications of the phone.

In June this year, HTC was said to be working on Aero which will be a flagship and fall in the line with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. It will reportedly pack a QHD (1440p) display with curved 2.5D glass and Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. HTC has been struggling to maintain a market share due to heavy competition from Apple and Samsung. The Taiwanese smartphone maker which reported a disappointing quarter announced 2,300 job cuts globally and also plans to discontinue smartphone models to revive its sales.
