If you don’t know what Pocket is then allow me to explain. It is a neat little app that helps you you to save stuff for viewing at a later time or date. This could be anything from articles, videos, photos etc. Now Pocket is introducing a new feature that gives you article and video recommendations that you may find interesting.
Pocket is available for both iOS and Android as well as your browser and Kobo OS (for the Kobo ereader). It can also connect to social networks and services such as Twitter and Flipboard. Once you save a particular link or article to Pocket, be it your tablet, smartphone or computer, you don’t need an internet connection either to access the content again.
It is a useful app that prevents you from missing out on important or interesting content when you don’t have time to view it. The new recommendations feature takes it a step further by showing you interesting articles, videos etc. It does this by taking a look at the most widely shared content among Pocket app users and matching it with your content and viewing preferences to give you recommendations that you are most likely to enjoy.
Over 2 billion articles are saved each day on Pocket and that is a lot of content to process and the recommendations feature should be able to grab almost every interesting article or video and show it to you. It appears right next to your list of saved articles and you can even choose to save these recommendations onto your list for future viewing purposes.
