Sony announced the Xperia Z5 Compact yesterday at IFA 2015. We are live at the event and got our hands on the phone. So let’s take a detailed look at hardware and specifications of the Z5 compact in this photo gallery.
The Z5 Compact sports a 4.6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) Triluminos Display with X-Reality for Mobiles and is powered by a Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU. Running Android 5.1 (Lollipop), the phone has a 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 200GB via microSD. It has a 5.1MP front-facing camera with Exmor R sensor, 25mm wide-angle lens. Also present at the front is the Sony branding and usual set of sensors. There are the three on screen touch buttons on the display.
On the right side the phone has a power button that is integrated with a fingerprint sensor. The volume rockers and a dedicated camera button is also situated on the right side.
The left side of the phone has an engraved Xperia branding along with a slot for micro SD and SIM card.The slot for micro SD and SIM card are present under the flap.
A 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top along with a microphone.
At the bottom there is a micro USB port and a microphone. The phone measures 127 x 65 x 8.9 mm and weighs 138g.
At the back the phone has a 23-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Sony G lens, Hybrid AF speed of 0.03s, 5x clear image zoom without loss of quality and 4K video recording, similar to the Xperia Z5. Also seen is the Sony branding the center followed by Xperia branding at the lower back.
The phone packs a 2700mAh Battery that comes a with STAMINA mode. Connectivity options include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, MHL 3.0, NFC. The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact comes in White, Graphite Black, Yellow and Coral colors and would launch globally from October 2015.
