Lenovo has started rolling out Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for A6000 in India, after the A6000 Plus smartphone that got the Lollipop update in India last week. The Lenovo A6000 was launched back in January running Android 4.4 (KitKat). According to Lenovo, the update fixes bugs, improve performance and stability over KitKat.

The Android Lollipop update brings Material Design with bold, colorful, and responsive UI design, better notifications, battery saver feature, better security including Android Smart Lock, New Quick Settings, Improved network hand offs, flexible sharing, faster, smoother and more powerful experience with ART, new languages and more. Lock screen and homescreen wallpapers will be changed after the update, says Lenovo. It also asks users to factory reset to decrypt the phone before updating, if encryption is enabled.

The Android Lollipop update for the A6000 is available OTA (over-the-air) and is 995MB in size, slightly smaller than the A6000 Plus’ update size of 1.09GB. Lenovo already announced that it sold 1 million 4G smartphones in India on Flipkart till June. Today it said that it had sold 1.3 million units of A6000 and A6000 plus smartphone till date.
