Apple announced the iOS 9, the next iteration of iOS at WWDC back in June. Today it announced that iOS 9 will be released to the public on Wednesday, September 16, four days after the new iPhones go on pre-order. The iOS 9 update brings powerful search and improved Siri features, new multitasking features that two apps at once, side by side on iPad, Picture-in-Picture, detailed transit information in Maps, News app and new capabilities in Apple Pay.
It also lets you Slide Over lets you simultaneously work in a second app without leaving the one you’re in and easily switch between your apps in iPad and has all-new Shortcut Bar that displays convenient editing tools, and new Multi-Touch gestures make it even easier to select, edit and move text in iPad.
You can read more about Apple iOS 9 here. iOS 9 will be support all the devices supported by iOS 8 that includes, iPhone 4s and later, iPod touch 5th generation and later, iPad 2 and later and iPad mini and later. The new iPad Pro, iPad mini 4, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus run on iOS 9 out of the box.
