A new Geekbench score that has surfaced online reveals a new smartphone that is powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 620 processor. Chances are that this could be the Samsung Galaxy A9.

The model has been listed as “Samsung msm8976fhdlte-eur-open” and the model name of the motherboard is MSM8976 which points to the Snapdragon 620. The device has an octa core processor clocked in at 1.4GHz and 3GB of RAM on board as well. The device is running Android Lollipop 5.1.1 and scored 1325 in the single core and 4461 points in the multi-core test.

We aren’t sure if this will be a successor to the Galaxy A8 or a higher end flagship in the A series, but the A8 has a Snapdragon 615 SoC and 2GB of RAM so this will be a good follow up to it judging just by the specifications. Although we don’t have any photos of the device as such, we expect it to have some design cues from the Galaxy A8 and probably even be quite slim if not as slim as the A8 which is just 5.9mm thick.
