Last week, it was reported that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus could have a 2GB RAM while iPad Pro could have a 4GB RAM. Today, these two important specifications of the newly launched Apple iOS devices have been confirmed.
Apple iOS development tool Xcode has confirmed the RAM specifications on the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and the iPad Pro. These results were discovered by iOS developer Hamza Sood. He posted the images from Xcode for the same on his official Twitter account. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus both pack 2GB of RAM, which has been bumped from the standard 1GB DDR2L/DDR3L that is present on previous generation devices including the iPhone 5, 5S, 6, and 6 Plus.
In addition, Sood also confirmed that the iPad Pro sports 4GB of RAM, that first came into spotlight when Adobe inadvertently mentioned the same in a Creative Cloud press release and removed it later. Apple added 1GB RAM for the iPad 3 which eventually got bumped to 2GB on the iPad Air 2. A 4GB RAM on the iPad Pro makes sense as the device offers split-screen multi tasking with iOS 9.
